We believe architecture is more than just a machine for living; it is a profound expression of place, rooted in the human experience.
We create spaces that go beyond fulfilling pragmatic needs, infusing the ordinary with beauty and a deep sense of belonging. Our designs are honest, durable, and adaptable, connecting and enhancing the lives of those who inhabit them. We recognize the importance of sustainability, ensuring that our designs not only enrich lives but also contribute to a more sustainable and resilient future.
Our aim is to transcend mere solutions, crafting environments that facilitate human connections and provide the latticework for communities to flourish. Every project is a collaborative effort, where we work closely with our clients, trades, and craftsmen to create a considered architecture that serves and is infused with beauty.

Crew Boathouse
Palimpsest
Type: Crew Boathouse
Date: 2017
Client: Undisclosed
Status: Concept
Description: This project used concept of excavation to engage the site and produce a level of abstraction. Images of plans were layered to produce a high level of static. A hierarchy was then determined and drawn out of the field. This hierarchy was guided by the influence of site conditions and visual analysis of the field. It was as if the building had been compressed into the ground, creating connection and overlaps. This connection with the ground became in many ways the link between the building and the site. It was as if the architecture was pulled from the ground. The results yielded a deeper understanding of the location that extended beyond the physical and into the experiential qualities of the site. This information exerted a strong influence on design, and in many ways became the driver for decisions.
Chicago Tower
Flickering Transpranceies
Type: Residential Tower
Date: 2017
Client: Undisclosed

Description: The design originated from a facade detail. The desire was to create a building that had a monolithic sculptural quality yet at the same time possessed a transparency and level of detail. The facade system achieved this by using nearly mullion free double envelope system. The envelope is composed of an acrylic paneling system and a butt jointed interior glazing. These acrylic panels are designed to create a double facade system. The effect is a facade that appears as a nearly solid monolithic form yet flickers and simultaneously appears as a trasparent crystalline like object.
Civil Rights Archive
A Library for Community Development
Type: Archive
Date: 2017
Location: Jackson, MS
Client: Undisclosed
Status: Conceptual
Description: Mississippi is a place that is scarred with a history of race related strife. Jackson itself has been the site of many challenges and victories for the Civil Rights Movement. This history is important and many times fragile. The building seeks to provide a place for preservation, access, research, education, and community outreach. The building functions primarily as an archive, but it also contains a small community room on the first floor and a larger meeting hall on the third floor. Light becomes a theme with shadow play on the facade and interior. Light is carefully controlled in protected areas and used to accent other spaces. Since the site is an infill, the two locations letting light in are the front facade and the roof. The main egress space and public functions are connected to the front facade to take advantage of the natural light coming through the fenestration, while the protected archival areas are pushed to the back of the building.
